Wide Open Unknown

I love adventure, oh my gosh do I love it! I was one of the lucky few who could look at college like it was the opportunity to do and be anything-- so I graduated with upwards of 160 credit hours (120 is normal). After college I felt like I could throw a dart on a map and live anywhere-- so I moved to Guatemala then Japan then Albuquerque. I have always imagined that I could marry the most magical of men-- without a doubt my rebellious, funny, musical, talented, artsy goofy, star-wars-lovin' husband is the most wonderful fit for me. Sometimes, I have the misfortune of forgetting that wide open unknowns are as exciting as I once thought.

Tomorrow will mark the two week period of the most incredulous of unknowns. I'd tell you what it is, but my heart loves secrets almost as much as it loves adventures. I have been tortured by this particular unknown; just wanting to know for sure how things are going to go so I can move on with my life! But I've forgotten, the unknown time, this period of rest is absolutely as special as the times where life passes me by in a whirlwind of color and passion and music and sound. Now, I don't call it a "rest" because I'm resting, but like in music where there's a pause, everything's at a stand still, pins can drop like bricks and breath is bated before everything begins in a cacophony of uproars.

This is a beautiful pause. The stars halt their movements, the whole of the world is stuck waiting for the crescendo of life to kick up it's heels and thunder through my heart with floods of possibilities.
